Realistic Job Preview
What kind of training and orientation can I expect to receive?
It is not unusual to feel overwhelmed or unsure at the start of any job.
To help you learn the needed skills and feel more confident, there is an
extensive training program. A list of scheduled training topics is
issued monthly.
Planning your training with your supervisor is important. There is on-line training as well as classroom training. Orientations occur in a classroom setting and more specific orientation occurs at the job site. Many trainings are required by regulations and must be taken in a certain order.
All new staff have questions. It is important to use your supervisor, co-workers, and the individuals you support to provide answers to your questions. Teamwork is critical to your success on the job. Use positive communication from the beginning, and your “team” will help you to succeed on the job.
