Hope Enterprises, Inc. Early Learning Program centers in Williamsport and Jersey Shore offer an array of learning experiences to promote the development of the young child. The early learning program provides a safe and nurturing environment, which is essential to foster the educational process for children to grow through hands-on activities.
The
curriculum encourages the development of the whole child through
meaningful activities in the
following areas:
- Gross and Fine Motor Skills
- Communication
- Cognition
- Self-help
- Socialization
- Art, music and computer readiness
- Following classroom routines
- Participation in community field trips
All children ages 3, 4 or 5 years are welcome.
Each classroom has a
maximum enrollment of nine children with a certified teacher and trained
instructional aide. Each classroom includes children with special needs and
children without disabilities. Classes are two and a half hour sessions
with changing weekly themes, a variety of child initiated play and
teacher directed activities.
Since families are partners in their child’s Early Learning Program,
resources and learning materials are available in the center’s library.
The early learning program is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public
Welfare and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
The program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and has Star 4 status from Keystone Stars.
Curriculum
The Hope Early Learning Centers base children’s learning on the Creative Curriculum. This curriculum provides an effective foundation for children of all ability levels, allowing them to be actively engaged. Classrooms are arranged into learning centers where a wide range of materials change on a regular schedule. Activities build on past experiences and present new challenges for the children. Early Learning Standards are considered when planning both child choice and teacher directed activities.
The staff is critical to the success of any curriculum. Teachers and Instructional Aides are uniquely aware of developmental milestones and adjust instruction accordingly. They remain sensitive to each child’s mode of learning and provide creative activities with many hands on interactive opportunities. Because of the small number of children in each classroom, the staff is able to individualize instruction. All aspects of development are incorporated and are enhanced by music, art, large motor play, gardening and community field trips.
Hope Early Learning has a responsibility to provide specialized instruction including designing visual cues, teaching appropriate social and play skills and using effective behavior intervention. Each child is treated with respect, care and concern. Staff patiently work through difficulties to enable each child to succeed. Continued professional development and meaningful teamwork support these responsibilities for effective curriculum.
Families are the school’s partner in the development of each child. Special events and time for parent involvement in the classroom are valued parts of the schedule. Resources, individual conferences and newsletters are provided. Hope Early Learning Program believes that every child can learn when given effective and appropriate tools for learning. We welcome each child and family to Hope’s preschool program.
