Programs and Services: Residential Services
Hope Enterprises, Inc. began providing residential services to persons with mental retardation and developmental disabilities in Lycoming County in 1972. Originally serving people living in their own homes or apartments, services have expanded to include several living options. Residential services are provided in Clinton, Lycoming, and Union Counties.
Group Homes
There are more than 30 homes operating in Clinton and Lycoming
Counties. One hundred twenty people are served in these homes. Most
homes are staffed twenty-four hours per day. Homes serve a wide variety
of developmental disabilities with many specializing in one particular
area. The level of independence, of which each person is capable, is a
determining factor in where each person lives.
Life Sharing Program
Serving
fifteen people, the Life Sharing Program is an alternative to living in
a group home. Families in the community can provide this service. A
placement process seeks to find the best possible match between the
individual with mental retardation and a family.
In Home Services
Through In Home Services, twenty-five people are able to remain in
their family home while receiving supports and training to learn new
skills, explore their community, or just have someone to spend time
with.
